Could you tell me if urine goes into a seperate toilet or if it’s ok to do both in the same toilet please? Also loo roll? Where does that go please?
And finally, how long would it take to fill an average container for a family of 6 please?
hi
many compost toilets have a ’seperator’ at the front, to wee into.
ours doesnt, we just ask people to try not to wee in it.
toilet papaer and any biodegradable stuff goes down too – which increases air in it to speed up the composting. and we put a little ashes, sawdust, straw or some such after each use.
we found that a simple box over a cubic meter hole served us, a family of 5, plus visitors, for a year.
but our proper chambers now, are about 4 cubic metres, and we have been using one chamber for about 2 years, with space to go – as it breaks down as it is being added to too.
